's talk about the hagel nomination for the pentagon chief over there. we're seeing something we don't usually see and that is senators sort of putting the brakes on one of their own. how often have you seen that sort of thing happen and will chuck hagel eventually be confirmed to your mind? >> i don't know the answer. a lot of people are saying that in the end he will be confirmed on a very narrow vote, but i'm not ready to say that yet. there's a great deal of dissatisfaction not just with chuck hagel who did not make all that good an impression during his confirmation hearing, but beyond that there are republicans who are trying their best to find out what happened on that night in benghazi when those four americans died and they still are not satisfied with the answers they're getting. so i'm not sure. i wouldn't bet the ranch right now that he will ever be confirmed, but that should come to a head in about a week when congress comes back from yet another vacation. >> all right. bob schieffer, face the nation on sunday, thank you so much for your time this afternoon. >> okay. >>>
